CanDo v1.2

A new release of CanDo is now available which will be mainly of interest to Palm Tungsten users.

This release adds:

• support for Palm 320x480 hi-res (Tungsten T3)
• Palm 5-way navigator support
• hi-res colour note icons

CanDo beta previews

Beta preview releases of CanDo are now available on the beta preview page. These are intended mainly for testing purposes. Most users should continue to use the production release from the main download area.

CanDo v1.1b patch

A patch release is now available on the download page. This resolves a bug (introduced in v1.1a) in the "Attach Note" menu command together with other bug fixes and robustness improvements.

CanDo v1.1a patch

A patch release is now available on the download page. This resolves a screen redraw problem when running on OS5 devices (e.g. Tungsten T3). You do not need to install this if you are running on an earlier OS release.

CanDo v1.1 launched

Elkasoft is pleased to announce the v1.1 release of CanDo, our task management application for the Palm PDA platform. CanDo is a replacement for the standard Palm built-in To Do List application.

Using CanDo's task management features you can:

• filter tasks by priority (any selected combination from 1,2,3,4,5 - including, but not restricted to, simple ranges);
• filter tasks by due date (undated, dated, yesterday/today/tomorrow, last/current/next week/month/quarter/year);
• filter tasks by keyword (string match in description and/or note fields);
• reorder tasks using alphabetic sort by description (within the existing sort order settings: date, priority, category);
• group related categories together in one list by creating an umbrella category;
• share categories so they appear in more than one list;
• customise key cycling (repeatedly pressing the ToDo hardware button) to include "Unfiled" and empty categories, or skip the "All" category;
• use named "views" to save application settings (rapidly switch your settings and reopen in a chosen startup category);
• manage tasks more easily using the enhanced details dialog and review an entire list within the details dialog using the up/down button;
• create new tasks with default properties (priority, due date, keyword) based on the current filter settings;

Version 1.1 - New features include: keyword filtering, alphabetic sorting, an enhanced details dialog with review mode, and startup categories for saved views. Other enhancements include: extra date rescheduling options, a "duplicate item" command, saved view renaming, and counting the number of tasks in a list.

CanDo v1.0a patch

A patch release is now available on the download page. This resolves a problem that may occur when small fonts are installed on your PDA device. You do not need to install this if you are using standard fonts.

CanDo v1.0 launched

Elkasoft is pleased to announce the launch of CanDo, our new task management application. CanDo is a replacement for the standard Palm built-in To Do List application.

Besides offering a range of enhancements over the standard application, CanDo retains compatibility by sharing the same database. This means you can benefit from the additional functionality on your handheld whilst continuing to use the standard Palm Desktop application on your PC.

CanDo is available for download from this site so you can evaluate it for yourself for 30 days. You can also view screenshots and the User Guide to see the extra features available to you.

Elkasoft formed

Today saw the formation of Elkasoft Limited, a specialist independent software company based in London, UK.

Elkasoft specialises in the development of productivity applications for the Palm platform. The applications are built on an object-oriented framework which has been under development for some time by Elkasoft's founders.
